The League of Women Voters of Hawaii County reminds residents that today is National Voter Registration Day, a nationwide, nonpartisan effort to register thousands of voters this fall.
The league encourages all eligible voters to register and participate in the political process.
Voters can register in person on any working day at local Elections Offices in Hilo, 25 Aupuni St., Suite 1502 (961-8277) or Kailua-Kona, West Hawaii Civic Center, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building B, 2nd Floor (323-4400).
Those who wish to register to vote, receive a permanent absentee ballot or update their address can pick up a mail-in Wikiwiki Voter Registration and Permanent Absentee Form from league volunteers at the following locations:
Waikoloa: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today at KTA in Waikoloa Village.
Kona: 2-6 p.m. today at KTA on Palani Road.
On-line registration is available at https://olvr.hawaii.gov/ for those who have a Hawaii driver’s license or Hawaii state ID.
The deadline to register to vote in the 2016 primary elections is July 14, 2016. The 2016 general election voter registration deadline is Oct. 10, 2016.
